Bryan Norton is a scholar of German literature and contemporary media. His research and teaching explore how writers, filmmakers, and activists seek to address the Gordian knot of environmental crisis, postcolonial upheaval, and technological change.
Since receiving his PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022, Norton has held visiting appointments at Paris VIII, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and Friedrich-Schiller University Jena. He currently holds the Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities at Stanford University.
